Zombies in Lagos by Lopperkem

Plane landing at Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria. The time is around 11:42 PM.

The weather is not friendly, with heavy rain, strong winds, and reduced visibility due to thick storm clouds. A commercial airliner, Flight 121 from Peru, is carrying a group of infected people.

The plane struggles to navigate through the intense storm that has engulfed Lagos. The heavy rain pounds against the plane's fuselage, causing turbulence.

The plane's instruments begin to malfunction, and the pilot struggles to maintain control.

With visibility severely reduced, the pilots are forced to make an emergency landing at Murtala Muhammad International Airport.

Next day morning, 8:34 AM.

James: Dad, come and pick me up on time. I can't wait to see Grandma and Uncle Kem.

Jate: Okay. (Jate drove off)

His phone rang, and it was Kem, his brother.

Kem: Hey, man, where are you?

Jate: I'm close, just give me some time.

While on the road to the bridge, he turned on the radio. It was a female voice passing the news at 9:00 AM.

Radio: The Lagos State Governor has urged everyone to stay indoors, his reason being that there is a zombie outbreak in Lagos.

Jate: What, zombies? Wetin' zombie dey do for Lagos?

Just after tuning the radio down, people began to run out of their cars, shouting "Zombies!" Jate saw a few of them and ran out of his car. He runs to James' school.

At James' school, parents are fighting their way in to get their kids as fast as possible. While dragging to get in, Jate's phone fell off, and he didn't know. After a few minutes of dragging and fighting, he finally got in.

Jate: Hi, where is my son? James, where is he?

Teacher: Sir, we have five James in this school. Which one?

Jate: The one with full eyebrows, a Spider-Man school bag, and Spider-Man shoes.

Teacher: Yeah, I think I know the one you're talking about. Mrs. Vee already took him with her kids.

Jate: To where?

Teacher: I don't know, maybe to her house.

At the airport, Kem calls Jate to find out where he is, but the line is going through. He called again with the same result. He called Bisi.

Kem: What's up? Where is your husband? He was supposed to come pick us up at the airport.

Bisi: Wait, he is not there yet? Let me call him.

Kem: I did that many times, his number is not going through.

Bisi: Let me try.

They got disappointed and moved in search of a hotel to lodge. Bisi calls Jate's number with the same result. She begins to worry. She calls Kem again.

Bisi: Where are you? I'm coming to pick you. There are zombies everywhere.

Kem: Not everywhere, there's no one here.

Bisi: Tell me where you are, and I'll come and pick you.

Kem: HDI Hotel.

(Bisi enters an empty car and hotwires it. She drove off, hitting each zombie that blocks her way.)

Jate goes to Mrs. Vee's house. The house is locked. Zombies attack him, but he fights his way out. Fighting with the big stick he saw on the floor, he smashes their heads and faces. He wants to call Bisi, but that's when he realizes he's phoneless. He tries to borrow a phone, but it seems like he's the only one outside; everybody has moved into their secret safe places. He's not just looking for James; he's looking for Bisi, his brother, and grandma. He decides to go to Bisi's workplace, but the only road that leads there has 90 zombies coming from that direction.

Kem and his grandma are among the people the federal government has taken to a safe bunker. Mrs. Vee and her children, including James, are inside the bunker as well.

Peter: I don't think this is right. Taking someone's child without them knowing.

Vee: Honey, we did it for them. Who knows what would have happened to him if we had left him there? (She stares at James, who is playing with her own kids.)

They will have their child.

Just as they were talking, the new set of people was brought into the bunker. Kem and his grandma are among them.

At the Government House:

The Governor: What's the update?

Ben: We found out that the zombies were being transported to Peru for treatment when the plane began to malfunction, so the pilot decided to land in Lagos.

The Governor: So how did they spread? I thought they were all locked in the plane. How did they escape?

Ben: Here's Henry, one of the pilot.

Here is the rewritten text with corrected spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors:

The Governor: Say something. (to the pilot)

Pilot: I don't know how they got out.

The Governor: This is bullshit. Ben, I want every squad out there. Get those things down.

At the Bunker:

(James saw Kem and ran to hug him.)

James: Uncle Kem, where is Daddy?

James: I should be asking you that. Where is your dad and mom, and who is that woman?

James: She is my teacher in school. She protected me from the zombies. The zombies are scary.

Kem: It's okay.

Vee: Hi, you must be the uncle?

Kem: Yes. Thank you for caring.

Vee: He's my student. I...

Vee: Good day, ma'am.

Kem: She doesn't hear or speak.

Vee: Oh, so sorry about that.

At HDI Hotel:

Bisi saw no one. Everywhere was empty. She called Kem again.

Kem: Hi, we moved. So sorry I didn't tell you.

Bisi: So where are you now? Give me a location.

Kem: In a bunker, close to the government house. James is here with me. (James, who was playing with his friend, heard his mom's voice and walked up to Kem.)

James: Is that my mom?

Bisi: James?

James: Mom?

Bisi: How are you? Don't worry, I'm coming. (She tries to start the car, but it won't start.)

James: Did the zombies get you?

Bisi: No. The car finally starts. She drove to the bunker.

On the street, the special squad has taken over, shooting the zombies, throwing grenades and bombs at them. Jate fought with some zombies. He was bitten and later infected. Many citizens were infected as well.

Inside the Governor's office:

Charles: The vaccine is ready.

The Governor: Start injecting.

Bisi drove and drove. She got to a point where her car broke down, so she had to come down and trek. She got to a checkpoint where many people were being checked before they would be taken to the bunker.

On the street:

Jate has been infected, and the venom is eating him badly. He couldn't hold it again, so he went into a hospital, tore part of his clothes, took spirit, poured it on the wound, and then tied it with the piece of cloth. Minutes later, some zombies began to come closer to where he is. He ran out with the wound bleeding.

At the Bunker:

Bisi met with her son, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law.

James: Mummy!

Bisi: James! Thank God you are safe.

Vee: Good to see Bisi.

Bisi: Thank you.

The military safeguarding the bunker began shooting the zombies approaching the bunker.

Jate found a bunker. People were fighting their way in. It wasn't an easy one. Jate tried to enter, but it was already full. They were instructed to go to the next bunker.

Jate: Please, can I get water?

Frank: Sure. (He gives Jate a bottle of water.)

Frank: Let me see that.

Jate showed him his wounded leg. Frank brought his first aid box and began medicating the wound.

Frank: How did you get the wound?

Jate: One of the zombies.

Frank: The venom is already going deep. Before night, you are going to be a zombie.

Jate: Please do something. I still have a family to look for.

Frank: This is the antidote. (He injects Jate with the antidote.)

Here is the rewritten text with corrected spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors:

Jate: Are you an army officer or a doctor?

Frank: I am both. What about you?

Jate: I am a taxi driver. (He gets up and moves on.) Thanks for the treatment.

Frank: I hope you find your family.

At the Government House:

Ben: The Peru government has not said anything about what happened. They haven't said anything about the plane that was carrying over 200 zombie-infected citizens that is causing mayhem in Lagos.

The Governor: I think this is a deliberate act. Someone opened the locked door for them to come out.

Ben: The question is, who?

The Governor: That's your job to find out. Send a message to the President of Peru, tell him that we are going to take action. All zombies are going to die.

Paul: What about Nigerian citizens who have been infected?

Ben: But the President said we should use the Zolavax on them. It's going to heal them.

The Governor: Whatever you wish to do, do. I just want peace.

At the Bunker:

Everybody was served food. Jate walked and ran alongside other people who were running to get to the next bunker so that it wouldn't be full when he got there. He finally got to the bunker and was taken in. Everybody was eating. H

e saw his wife and family. James ran and hugged him.

The military bombed all the zombies in the state. Not a single one of them was alive to see the sun rise again. By this time, it was already night.

The end.
